Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 Sep 2026. This policy explains what personal data FindSetu.in collects, why, and your rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Data we collect

  • Account: name, mobile number (verified by OTP), optional email, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
  • Listings you post: the details you enter, photos, the area/district/state you choose, and the contact numbers you decide to show.
  • Payments: amount, UPI transaction ID and an optional screenshot you upload. We do not receive your UPI PIN or bank login.
  • Messages and job applications: content you send through the platform, including any resume you attach.
  • Technical data: a one-way hash of your IP address and your browser type, used for security and abuse prevention. We do not store raw IP addresses in our activity logs.

Why we use it

  • To run your account and show your listings.
  • To let other verified users contact you, only as allowed by your listing settings.
  • To verify payments, prevent fraud and spam, and keep the platform safe.
  • To send notifications you have asked for (you can change these in your account).

Who can see what

  • Everyone: listing titles, descriptions, area/district/state, ratings and public business details.
  • Logged-in users with a verified mobile: contact numbers you chose to show, with a daily limit to stop bulk copying.
  • Employers: your name, mobile number, message and resume — only for jobs you apply to.
  • Our staff: only what they need for support, payments and moderation. Every admin action is logged.

We do not sell your personal data.

Lost & Found

Long ID numbers (Aadhaar, PAN, bank or card numbers) written in Lost & Found posts are hidden automatically before saving — only the last 4 digits are kept.

How long we keep data

  • Listings are hidden when they expire and deleted with your account.
  • When you delete your account, it is hidden immediately and your personal data is erased after 30 days. Payment records are kept without your personal details where required by law.

Your rights

You can view and edit your data in your account, ask us for a copy, ask us to correct it, withdraw consent, and delete your account at any time (Account → Delete account). For any request or complaint contact our Grievance Officer: —, —.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies to keep you logged in and protect forms. We do not use advertising cookies.

FindSetu.in is meant for users aged 18 and above.
